Magical May Day!

Greetings on the second day of May.

Wonderful uplifting gathering last night. Gratitude for all that attended in person and in spirit!Β

Here’s the chant Barbara taught us. Sing it every day in May!

“Every day that is May I will celebrate! And that starts with today”

Followed by a link to the James Taylor song we danced around the labrynth to and the lyrics below.

  Enjoy

First of May

James Taylor
And the light between us
Which we couldn’t quite extinguish
Which we see at dawn
Burns on, burns on
First day of May
Things are beginning
Our side is winning
Hip hip hooray
Made in the shade
Deep in the shadow
Down by the meadow
Lie in my arms
And the moon will rise
Before our very eyes
We will rise too
I’ll be with you
It’s a rite of spring
A horizontal thing
The sweetest sort of dance
Hidden in among the plants
People are laughing
Children are singing
Come join the dance
And the walls around us
Which we kept at such a cost
When we turned around
Came tumbling down, tumbling down
She can’t stop laughing
He can’t stop singing
First day of May
Fetch him down
Fetch him down
Fetch him down
Fetch him down

Tonight May Day Gathering 615pm

Namaste on this glorious first day of May.

If you are planning on coming tonight please bring something to sit on. Either your yoga mat or a folding chair. If you happen to have a fading cherry tree or any other flowering something feel free to bring some to share.

Note I pushed the time to 6:15 so I have a little more time.

Dress accordingly for the weather and for the festivities of the day

Blessings on all living bei ngsπŸ™πŸ’•πŸŒΏπŸŒ·β€οΈ

“Bandhas can help Achieve total control of your energy, Go beyond limitations, and Experience and Explore without Limits.”

Sadhguru

Yogic bandhas (energy locks) seal in your prana (life force energy) for you to use in the most productive way creating strength, stamina, and well being in all areas of your life.

Bandhas not only engage and encourage the flow of pranic energy through the nadis (energy meridians), but also interacts with the nervous system and blood flow through the blood vessels.

We will continue our practice this month with the exploration of these amazing yogic techniques. For further reading, I found this article very informative. https://www.arogyayogaschool.com/blog/bandhas-the-locking-techniques-of-yoga/

Sonny Perri 2007-2024

We lost our dear, sweet Sonny last week. As I mourn his passing,   I remember the joy and unconditional love he brought to our home. I hope his transition to the next realm is peaceful for him. I bow to his divinity and bless the day he became part of our family. A true lesson in impermanence and art of letting go. ❀️

Yoga this Week – March 24, 2024

“Taking the leap involves making a commitment to ourselves and to the earth itself-making a commitment to let go of old grudges,…to not cling to our fears, our closedmindedness, our hardheartedness, our hesitation. Now is the time to develop trust in our basic goodness and the basic goodness of our sisters and brothers on this earth; a time to develop our confidence in our ability to drop our old ways of staying stuck and to choose wisely. We could do that right here and right now”

I hope you will consider joining us in reading Pema Chodron’s “Taking the Leap” I plan on bringing it up during classes to open up brief discussions and insights anyone might be having. We will form a meeting to formally discuss as well. If you are reading it, take your time with each chapter and let it marinate in your mind. Try out some of the suggestions and see what happens. Underline, take notes, try to immerse yourself. its a small little book that is packed with amazing tools and insights that not only guide us to live a more harmonious life but shows us how we can interject peace, love and compassion into a world that so desperately need it!

Shanti!
