Co-Creating Your Life – A Vision Board Workshop

“Everyone has a spirit that can be refined, a body that can be trained in some manner, a suitable path to follow. You are here to realize your inner divinity and manifest your innate enlightenment.”

Enlightenment happens, not in some far away distant esoteric place, but in the everydayness of life.  Enlightenment is an appropriate response to your inner callings and a willingness to act from your highest, intuitive self.   A Vision Board is a collection of images, words, affirmations or drawings that serve as a spirit-led guide for discovering and acknowledging what your soul is yearning for.   The universe wants to support your efforts to live a life filled with joy, abundance, adventure and purpose.   It is within the effort of creating the Vision that brings clarity as well as focus to your intentions so you can begin to live your life by your own design, free of fear based judgments or cultural pressures.

With the year coming to a close, this is the perfect time to reflect,  let go and have fun exploring your inner desires creating a visual reminder of the things that excite, endear and provoke you to live an inspired life!

This workshop will consist of a centering meditation, a simple writing exercise and choosing images and pasting them on a piece of oak tag.  Each participant is asked to bring 3 to 5 magazines of random genres to be cut up and shared, a picture of yourself that projects joy and happiness, and a small journal or notebook.  All other supplies will be provided.

Co-Creating Your Life – A Vision Board Workshop

Thursday, January 22nd 7-9pm

=

The New Year is a great time to open your mind to more than traditional New Year’s resolutions, to have fun exploring your inner desires and create a fun reminder of the things that excite, endear and provoke you to live an inspired life!

images (29)

Come and clear body, mind and spirit with an all levels detox flow including a guided chakra meditation and yoga nidra.

We all tend to indulge in rich foods around the holidays but detoxing is more than just physical.  We also may experience emotional heaviness, grief, elation followed by sadness or just plain exhaustion with a sense of being out of balance!

Class will begin with an asana class infused with flowing twisting, forward bending, and kriyas (cleansing practices) for the body, followed by a chakra clearing meditation for emotional grounding and ending with deep yogic relaxation to enliven the spirit.

Please reserve your spot as soon as possible for this special Saturday morning class.  We need at least four students to sign up for class to run.

**Special Note:  Please try not to eat anything heavy for at least 2 hours prior to class as we will be doing cleansing kriyas, pranayama and twisting.

Winter_Solstice_Mistletoe_300

Our Annual Winter Solstice Celebration is Friday, December 19th at 7pm (sorry about the date change).    Please let me know if you are coming if you haven’t already!  This is one of my most favorite holiday parties of the season!!  Take this time to step out of the comings and goings and become aware how darkness turns to light and endings become beginnings.

surya-namaskar

Remember the Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year and the shortest day but what that really means is that we are celebrating the return of the sun!!

Reminder about what to bring

(What Not to Bring:  Your Mat)

*Bring an image, word, drawing to put on our Community Yoga Vision Board.  Something you wish to see more of in our world for 2015

*Bring a donation for our food pantry (non-perishable food or toiletries item)

*Bring a percussion instrument if you have it for the chanting section

*Dress Festively (Think Winter Solstice:  Blues, purples, dark burgundies, sparkles, shimmers, you get the point.  Festive does not necessarily mean dressed up)

Yoga Hike at Beautiful Avalon Park

Saturday, October 18th, 915-1130am

Join me for a relaxed hike through the beautiful Avalon Park in Stony Brook where we will share a yoga class in natures studio. All levels, ages welcome. Namaste fellow adventurers!! Meet at the Duck Pond at 9:15am   Read on to note a little change of schedule…..upon further research and a preliminary walk through Avalon yesterday, I discovered that it is against park rules to do a group yoga class in the actual park as they try to reserve this special place for trail walking and contemplation. Also, the area I picked for the class, as well as the Labyrinth is closed off for Fall re-seeding. So we will now meet at the duck pond (right on Harbor Road – you can park anywhere along main street), do a brief warm up standing sequence (you can leave your mats in the car until we return) and end our hike back at the duck pond for a cool down class. I did acquire permission from Avalon to do a group hike and also permission from the Ward Melville Historical Society to use the area by the duck pond for yoga. Lets hope for great weather!! See below for schedule.$15 per person with half of the proceeds to go to the Invited Inn Soup Kitchen in Rocky Point to feed the hungry among us. Bring Yoga Mat, Water and wear layered clothing and comfortable walking shoes. Please note there are no public bathrooms at Avalon Park Schedule9:15-9:30am Arrive and meet at the duck pond. You can park anywhere along main street and a few spots are available at the Grist Mill. (Leave your mats in the car, you won’t need them till we get back)9:30-10am Warm up standing yoga sequence by the ponds10-11am Explore Avalon Park11:1130am Cool Down Yoga Class by the pond (retrieve your mat from the car and meet by the pond.
