“Yoga postures and practice should be adjusted to the needs and levels of each practitioner, not the other way around. Yet more often than not, students force themselves into postures (with a preconceived goal). Goals are the finish line of a race, while yoga is an ongoing process throughout life. We need goals but we need to keep them in their proper place”

Learning to tune in to your internal cues and honoring them will help keep you stay safe and attain balance on and off the mat. Get quiet when making a decision, listen to what your body is saying as you begin your yoga practice, the answer is there. Allow yourself to have goals, goals are a healthy way of moving forward in the direction we desire. Goals keep us motivated and keep us focused. However, learn to honor the journey and give space for your goals to shift and change as life unfolds. Trust the process and enjoy an experiential, experimental life that allows the divine expression of your unique self to shine through.
