I apologize but it looks like I will be away this Friday again! There shouldn’t be any interruptions for Friday after this one, I hope.
Aparigraha Greedlessness Non-attachment “The yogi feels that the collection or hoarding of things implies a lack of faith in God and in himself to provide for the future….By the observance of Aparigraha, the yogi makes his life as simple as possible and trains his mind not to feel the loss or the lack of anything. Then everything he really needs will come to him by itself at the proper time.” BKS Iyengar
Hari Om Dear Yoga Enthusiasts,
Hoping this email finds you well and diving into Fall with abandon and hopeful enthusiasm! Aparigraha is one of the yogic ethics that stands for non-greed or non-attachment. Practicing Aparigraha we are encouraged to foster contentment and gratitude with everything you have in your life reminding yourself you have all you need. There is no reason to worry, hoard or be greedy when you truly believe you have enough. Use this season of abundance and going inward to contemplate all you have, all you are and how you can share it with the world.
As classes begin to fill up as they tend to do in Fall, please be sure to let me know if you plan to attend in person as well as canceling your spot if plans change. Thanks😊
Greetings dear friends,
Holding the Balance-Ode to the Autumn Equinox
Our lives hold grief and balm in equal measure, light and darkness are two ends of the same stick. How do we hold all this life, all these dualities of sadness and joy, receiving and letting go, failures and successes, dreams and regrets, doing and not doing?
The Tao Te Ching tells us that when we become empty we receive all that we have been grasping for. This emptying and filling is why we are here. To learn to let go with the grace of a tree in fall, to go within to shine the light where it has remained dark. To share our burdens, our joys and give to those that are in need. Together we move into the darkest part of the year with gratitude for the opportunity to live, share, and to be the light for others. I encourage you to join us as we celebrate in sacred Sangha the Autumn Equinox this Wednesday evening!
Hoping you are enjoying this beautiful September weather. The harvest moon just passed and Autumn Equinox (Annual equinox fundraiser on 9-21 at 6pm on the beach) is quickly on its way. Enjoy every moment and allow your loving care to flow unimpeded and free.
*Beach Yoga extended till Sept 21st. This werk Time changes to 615pm!
Namaste dear friends,
Hope this email finds you well. I am extending the beach classes until the Autumn equinox on the 21st. That leaves three beach gatherings left before we let go of Summer and move Wednesday night back into the yoga room and zoom. Our habit is holding on…the practice teaches us how to let go. Not easy but so necessary. Hope you can join us.
