Yoga tonight at 645pm, Book Club, Breach Hike & Pics from Sunday…..

Hari Om Dear Yoga Students,

IMG_0320_edit.jpeg

Just a reminder that tonight’s class begins at 645pm.  Dress in layers, bring something to lay your mat on (some found using a shower curtain or sheet works well) and a blanket for relaxation.

A few of us have been interested in starting a book club.  The meetings will be held on zoom until further notice.  This is a fun, informal club (not necessarily yoga related) and will be hosted by various members.  Here is the invite if interested.  We will be picking a book shortly.  If you have questions, let me know!  So excited about finally doing this.

Join Amy’s Book Club

On October 15th, Thursday at 1030am there will be a group hike to the Breach at Smith Point.  We will meet at the west end of the parking lot.  The hike takes approximately 45 minutes each way, sneakers are recommended.  Bring a snack/water/dress in layers and let me know if you plan to join us.

Loving all our Yoga Adventures!  We need community and each other right now more than ever!!  Sending Peace! Amy

yoga this week – september 20, 2020

“When you do your yoga practice, do it for more than the obvious physical benefits. Yoga gives us an opportunity to connect with that sacred self that lies beneath appearances, beyond belief systems and transcends even time. Yoga ignites our curiosity and expands our capacity for growth to help create a more meaningful, healthy and vital sense of living, not just for ourselves, but for all we come in contact with.” AP

Thank you to all who contributed to our Equinox Fundraiser. We collected $375 for the Food Pantry, in addition I will be adding $200 from both our Kayaking Trips for a grand total of $575! If you wish to contribute, let me know. I plan on sending it in after our next Kayak trip. (Which, by the way was postponed due to the high winds on Sunday morning, see below if you would like to join us). The Equinox was a beautiful expression of community. As special thank you to Jim, Derek and Steve who serenaded us with live music on the beach. We are so blessed to live and work in such an amazing place. May our efforts benefit all beings especially those closest to us! Jai!!

This is a fundraiser for Friend’s kitchen located at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rocky Point that feeds the hungry in our area.  The suggested donation is $15 cash.  If you can’t attend and would like to contribute, please feel free to venmo Amy-Perri or send a check.

Many Blessings for the upcoming Equinox.  The winds of change are upon us.

Holding the Balance-Ode to the Autumn Equinox

Our lives hold grief and balm in equal measure, light, darkness are two ends of the same stick.  How do we hold all this life, all these dualities of sadness and joy, receiving and letting go, failures and successes, dreams and regrets, doing and not doing? The Tao Te Ching tells us that when we become empty we receive all that we have been grasping for.  This emptying and filling is as natural as the turn of the seasons.  To learn to let go with the grace of a tree in fall, to go within to shine the light where it has remained dark.  To share our burdens and our joys together as we walk this life full of transitions.  As we empty and prepare for what is to come,  planting seeds of intention; we find gratitude as we give rise to what is germinating deep inside; we honor the balance of light and dark. “It is the wilderness in
the mind, the desert wastes in the heart through which one wanders lost and a stranger. When one is a
stranger to oneself then one is estranged from others too. If one is out of touch with oneself, then one
cannot touch others.”

Greetings Dearest Friends,

The need for solitude and time to pursue creative endeavors is so very important to the journey inward, to discover, befriend and cultivate your relationship to yourself.  This is also key  in the practice of  accepting and embracing changes in relationships, in life’s circumstances and in the world at large.  When we are intimate with our inner being, we can find the grounding, gratitude and joy within that we crave to find healing and wholeness which enables us to accept instead of resist life’s circumstances with grace.  So this Labor Day, give yourself some time and space to get in touch with you.  Be  with yourself without placing any demands or lofty outcomes.  Let go of having to accomplish and just allow your inner child to play, relax and just be.
