Yoga this Week-November 27, 2022

Hari om dear friends,

Here’s an except from one of my favorite books “The Spiritual Teachings of Yoga” on a true yogi’s aim in doing asana (physical postures). Read on…we will discuss in detail this week in class.

“Her aim in doing the asanas is not only to increase flexibility fitness and strength, but primarily to release tension held in her body,  to loosen it,  soften it,  open it so that internal blockages and obstructions formed by old negative emotions and thoughts can be shaken up cleansed and washed away
allowing the bodies internal pathways and organs to become clear.

  In this open state her living energy, her prana can be free flowing and move uninhindered through her body.

The Yogi achieves this openness by performing her asanas mindfully,  working gently with her body and not forcing it into perfect positions…. Since periods of growth are not continuous the Yogi willingly contrasts period’s movement with periods of rest respecting her body so that it’s natural intelligence can consolidate what it has attained”

In this special event,  Restorative Yoga, Reiki Energy, Essential Oils and Sound Healing are integrated to create an  indulgent experience designed to restore balance, boost immune system & facilitate  a deep sense of calm in mind, body and spirit

Restorative yoga postures are supported by blankets, pillows, straps and bolsters to relieve tension, stress and passively open energy in the body. Reiki is a non-invasive channeling of universal healing energy with the intention of loving kindness sent to the receiver. Carefully chosen essential oil blends along with the soothing sounds of chrystal bowls deepens the experience of deep relaxation and release.

Amy Perri, Yoga Teacher eRYT500/Reiki Master and Lauren Belcastro, LMSW/Yoga Teacher/Reiki Master join forces to combine these amazing healing modalities creating an indulgent experience that will be sure to leave you refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to receive the ever increasing light of the season.

Light refreshments will be served immediately following.

Due to the nature of this class we must limit attendance  to eight participants.Please register as soon as possible.  Prepayment before February 4th of  $55 to hold your spot, thereafter $65 if spots are open. This class will fill up. Register as soon as possible. (48 Hour Cancellation Policy does apply)   

Amy Perri, eRyt500 is an experienced Registered Yoga Teacher at the 500 Level, Reiki Master and lover of animals, nature and spiritual practices. Amy owns and operates a fully equipped private yoga studio that will support and nuture you through this amazing healing experience

Lauren Belcastro,eRyt/LMSW is a Long Island native who has a background teaching art and mindfulness classes to kids and adults. In 2018 Lauren became a certified yoga instructor and in 2020 graduated with her masters in social work providing therapeutic services throughout the island. Lauren loves incorporating art, yoga, reiki, and other mindfulness practices into all the services she provides

Namaste dear friends,

It’s important to our growth to check in with ourselves from time to time. The intention is not to judge or berate but to realign to our highest values and discern how we wish to show up in our lives.

Take aook at the attributes above and chances are you will see growth in some areas and some work to do in others. This is the path, this is the work of becoming. This is Svadhyaya…self study to see where you are stuck and begin the self caring process of opening.

Hari Om dear yoga students,

I hope you are enjoying these amazing days of Fall. As the trees begin to release their leaves more and more, spaces and gaps reveal pleasant surprises. There is pure beauty in letting go. We are here to experience the full spectrum LIFE… to experience all the colors of emotions, empty and full spaces and the beauty and power of letting go.

Yoga this Week-October 30, 2022

Greetings dear friends,

It certainly has been a beautiful Fall so far!  Hope you are continuing to get outside and enjoy the beautiful colors. our forest bath was wonderful time spent togetherbin communion withNature. I will be putting another one on the schedule soon for a weekend experience before it gets to cold. Hope you will consider joining us.

Tomorrow marks the half-way point from Autumn Equinox to Winter Solstice which is Samhain  in the Celtic Calendar and Halloween in ours.  During this dark time of year, it was believed that the spirits of the dead wandered from sunset until midnight. After midnight, the ghosts are said to go back to rest.  Its a good time to recall all those that have gone before us to let them know we still love them. We can also call their energy in to guide and protect us.

Meditative Walk in the Forest today at 330pm

Good morning on this beautiful fall day.

If you are planning to come on the walk this afternoon please bring a small easy to carry towel or mat. If the forest floor is dry enough we may sit down for a little bit

Join me this Thursday at Prosser pines for a Forest Bathing experience. We will immerse ourselves using all of our senses in the energy of the forest. This will be a slow paced, meditative walk appropriate for all.
