Yoga this Week – May 1, 2022

*No Class Friday, May 6th or Monday May 9th*

What we’re trying to do in yoga is to create a union, and so to deepen a yoga pose is to actually increase the union of the pose” ~Rodney Yee

Yoga is about union, connection and integration of the whole self. Each time we come to our mats, we have a chance to explore this interconnectedness. We begin with our breath and move into our bodies, but it doesn’t stop there. As we create union with a pose, we adjust, consider, explore, become present and breathe into the experience. We soften into the edges of the pose and watch them dissolve as we flow moment to moment. Much the same way we can choose to unite and connect with the situations and interactions in our life. We can choose to lean in, yield and be present, to connect and unite with everything inside and around us with curiosity instead of expectations. Rather than judge your day by how much you accomplish, see or do, choose instead to unite, connect and deepen into the mystery that is your life.

Yoga this Week – No Tuesday Morning – April 10, 2022

In error I realized I can’t teach Tuesday morning this week!

Wednesday Evening’s new time is 6pm*

“PRACTICE

AND ALL IS

COMING”

Sutra 1.12 states that through practice (Abyassa) and dispassion (Variagya) we can attain mastery over the modifications of the mind.

Sutra 1.13 states that intention and effort to remain steady in an internal focus is the only way to stay steady in calming the mind (Abyassa)

Greetings dear Friends

For anyone who would like to do a little homework, look up a few translations or explanations of Sutra 1:12 and 1:13 and come up with what you think they mean in your life. I’d love to hear what you come up with in class this week.

“We must work assiduously on the process of self-purification, for whatever we do to improve the world will be infused with the energy with which we do it”

Marianne Williamson

Dearest Yoga students,

Be diligent to keep yourself pure.  Pure in thought, word, action and intention. Create practices that allow you to go deep within and clear yourself of built up toxins in body and mind.  Focus on the energy and intention you bring to your daily round.  The outcome of whatever we do is always the sum of how we approach the task.  “If we take care to honor and care for the roots of the tree, the branches and leaves take care of themselves”. Clear your energy, align with your highest intelligence and watch your day unfold with the grace that is inherent in our divine destiny.

Yoga this Week-March 27, 2022

The soft overcomes the hard;
the gentle overcomes the rigid.
Everyone knows this is true,
but few can put it into practice.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 78

Namaste Dear Friends,

Yoga practices guide us through the soft, open areas of ourselves to explore what is stiff and unyielding. We come to our mats with a willingness to be curious about where we are stuck and a compassionate, patient heart will gently allow us to unlock the rigid and unwilling. It is only the willingness to be the ground, to be able to crumble so the wildflowers of our hearts can bloom.

“What more can any of us hope for than to be created by the very thing we feel compelled to create”

Mark Nepo

Dearest Yoga Students,

I cannot express it more succinctly than the above quote. I am being created or found or more myself with the very things I am compelled to create! Our Spring Awakening Retreat was an amazing experience on all levels and I deeply thank all those that attended. If you missed this one, we will be doing this again!
