Greetings dear friends,
It certainly felt like Fall today! Hope you are continuing to get outside and enjoy the beautiful colors. I am going to plan for all the classes to be on Zoom this week unless it warms up a bit! 55 in the morning feels a little too chilly for Yoga! If the weather changes, I will let you know that I will be outside, otherwise, tune in with us on Zoom! Below are the links.

Weather permitting we will begin having a Yoga Walk once a week on Wednesday at 1pm meeting on the north end of the parking lot at Heritage Park in Mt. Sinai. Here we will walk (socially distanced with masks) do some standing postures, talk philosophy and do a walking meditation. Weather Permitting of course. It will be a great way for us to be together in person as the weather continues to march forward.
Saturday marks the half-way point from Autumn Equinox to Winter Solstice which is Samhain in the Celtic Calendar and Halloween in ours. During this dark time of year, it was believed that the spirits of the dead wandered from sunset until midnight. After midnight, the ghosts are said to go back to rest. Its a good time to recall all those ancesters that have gone before us and call their energy in to guide and protect us.

Good Evening Friends,
I do not know why some of these links takes you to a different page. I will have to contact Zoom to find out why. For now, the link may take you to a sign in page. All you have to do is disregard that and click on JOIN in the upper right hand corner of that page. It will take you to a page where you have to put in the MEETING ID, (see below) that will take you to registration. Any issues, text me. Thanks!!
(Please only register on ZOOM if you plan on streaming from home, contact me if you are interested in a attending in person. Spots limited to four people)
PLEASE NOTE: If you click the link and it asks for your email and password, click JOIN in the upper right hand corner and enter the Meeting ID, it should take you right to the registration page. The Monday Meditation link takes you right into the meeting, no registration needed for that.

Greetings dearest yoga students,
Hope this email finds you enjoying the changing landscape as we move deeper into Fall. Get outdoors as much as you possibly can. Nature allows us to connect to that timeless self we can easily loose sight of among the never ending commitments, appointments and to do lists that bombard our days. It is imperative to take time to nurture your spirit, creativity and freedom; your well being depends on it.
Speaking of well being, I have decided to forgo having any students physically present in the yoga room. It just does not feel like the right thing to do at this time. As weather forces everyone indoors more often, the risk of spreading germs increases. I hope you all understand there is nothing more I would like than to see you in person for your practice. The outdoor classes will continue as long as we can and I plan to stream all classes on zoom. When outdoor classes become impossible, I have a plan to put a Yoga Walk Talk Meditation Practice on the schedule on Wednesday afternoons. More details on that next week but for now See below the letter of gratitude we received from Friends Kitchen for our collective donation!

Enjoy some pictures from our Smithpoint walk, it was a magical morning.

Greetings,
Tomorrow is a group hike to the breach at SmithPoint Beach. It is a lovely walk and tomorrow’s weather looks perfect.
We will meet at 1030am on the far west end of the parking lot. Drive through the toll booth and continue heading all the way west till you can’t go anymore. You will see me by my Black Chrysler 300 waiting happily for you.
You should were good sneakers or walking shoes, bring water and a snack or lunch. We will stop at the breach, do a few yoga poses, enjoy the scenery, take a break and hike back.
If you can let me know if you plan to be there, I will look out for you!
My cell is 6318390644 in case you are running late, we will wait!
Jai!
Amy

Greetings dearest yoga students,
Love & Light are the only ways to combat darkness and hate. Become aware of your thoughts when they begin to become dark and release them before they take hold and turn into actions or words you may regret. A Sanskrit term found in the yoga sutras is “Heyam Dukham Anagatam” which means “The pain that is yet to come can be avoided.” We all have dark thoughts, we are human, but they do not become real until we cultivate them and then act from that place so remind yourself, again and again, that Love & Light are always the best answer.

Beginning next week, if the weather is not cooperative for Yard Classes, I will accommodate up to four students in the Yoga Room, 6 feet apart with masks. The first four to sign up will get a spot and the rest can Zoom in the room. PLEASE DO NOT COME INTO THE ROOM IF YOU ARE FEELING ADVERSLY IN ANY WAY. We have to make sure we stay safe and healthy. Bring your own props and mats. I will have the air purifier on, the window and door open and fan going. We will see how it goes, this plan, like all plans, is subject to change.

Happenings
We will begin reading “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by MaryAnn Shaffer and Annie Barrows shortly. If you wish to join us click the link, download the app and reserve your copy at the library. Can’t wait to start reading! Join Amy’s Book Club
On October 15th, Thursday at 1030am there will be a group hike to the Breach at Smith Point. We will meet at the west end of the parking lot. The hike takes approximately 45 minutes each way, sneakers are recommended. Bring a snack/water/dress in layers and let me know if you plan to join us.
Hari Om Dear Yoga Students,

Just a reminder that tonight’s class begins at 645pm. Dress in layers, bring something to lay your mat on (some found using a shower curtain or sheet works well) and a blanket for relaxation.
A few of us have been interested in starting a book club. The meetings will be held on zoom until further notice. This is a fun, informal club (not necessarily yoga related) and will be hosted by various members. Here is the invite if interested. We will be picking a book shortly. If you have questions, let me know! So excited about finally doing this.

“When you do your yoga practice, do it for more than the obvious physical benefits. Yoga gives us an opportunity to connect with that sacred self that lies beneath appearances, beyond belief systems and transcends even time. Yoga ignites our curiosity and expands our capacity for growth to help create a more meaningful, healthy and vital sense of living, not just for ourselves, but for all we come in contact with.” AP

Thank you to all who contributed to our Equinox Fundraiser. We collected $375 for the Food Pantry, in addition I will be adding $200 from both our Kayaking Trips for a grand total of $575! If you wish to contribute, let me know. I plan on sending it in after our next Kayak trip. (Which, by the way was postponed due to the high winds on Sunday morning, see below if you would like to join us). The Equinox was a beautiful expression of community. As special thank you to Jim, Derek and Steve who serenaded us with live music on the beach. We are so blessed to live and work in such an amazing place. May our efforts benefit all beings especially those closest to us! Jai!!
