Beach yoga tonight down at the end of Broadway please arrive at least by 6:50 p.m. . We are slowly losing daylight so as the summer progresses our classes will get a little bit earlier every week or so. Stay in touch hope to see you down there.

Yoga & Kayaking Half-Day Adventure through beautiful Setauket Harbor!!

Saturday, August 11th   – 930am to 130pm

    $25 per person 

 We will meet at Shore Road Dock off Main Street in Setauket

20% of proceeds to be donated to the Invited Inn soup kitchen and food pantry at Trinity Church in rocky point

 Paddle your way through beautiful Setauket Harbor to an Island on the Sound for a yoga practice in nature’s studio and experience the North Shore at its finest.  Join us as we greet the day on the dock With a little pre-paddle stretch and intention setting.  We will proceed to board our kayaks, canoes or row boats and paddle, stopping along the way for a  water meditation,  to the island  where we will have an asana class.  After class, we will enjoy a quick lunches on the shore before we paddle back to the dock.  (The paddle itself will take approximately 30 minutes each way to and from the island)

Bring Your lunch, drinks, towel and kayak. If you wish to rent please let me know , I have a company that will bring them to us for an additional fee of $60 cash the morning of paid directly to them.

Svadhyaya

The fourth Niyama (or observance) in the Eight Limb Path of yoga is the study of the self.

Like so many yoga practices, svadhyaya is the process of getting to know who we really are; our true self. Yoga asana, pranayam, and meditation are all ways to peel off the layers of our false selves. Doing this and staying present to the process is not always easy. As we peel the layers and really look at our exposed wounds, memories, conditionings and patterns, we may feel more confused and defeated than when we began. Trust the process and turn again and again to those spiritual teachers that came before us. They are there to guide us; in books, in music, in our dreams, our prayers or maybe sitting right across from us at work, home or in our communities.

As we work to let go of others (or even our own) ideas of who we should be, the more open and compassionate to our own “particular genius” we can become and the more our “natural channels” to the divine open and our dharma (life’s purpose) is revealed.

Beach Yoga classes are offered by good will $$ donation to all current members of NSBPOA (Monetary donations to instructor are greatly appreciated to offset usage fees)

Special Note for non-members regarding parking:

Upon receipt of Special Parking Permit, non-members will have access to Broadway Beach Parking Lot for the duration of class, at which time, Special Permit will be returned to Amy. Please note that this special parking permit is required and only valid for Broadway Beach Parking Lot and that without it you run the risk of being towed. Non-Members must arrive 10 min prior to class start to acquire your pass.

Always be sure to check my website or Facebook page prior to heading down to beach for any changes due to weather or scheduling.

We also have an on-going food pantry collection bin that periodically gets delivered to local food pantry’s in our area, If at all possible, please bring an item to donate when you come to class as an offering to those let fortunate.  Non-perishable food items as well as toiletries, detergents, paper goods are all much appreciated.
