Yoga this Week – July 2, 2017

th (8)

Hope you all are enjoying this glorious weather.  Happy Fourth of July to you all.  I am truly grateful and blessed to have the freedom to practice, teach and live my spiritual path of yoga in my individual way.  Take note this week of all the ways your freedom is expressed in your life and how being FREE makes you feel.  Yoga practice gives us the tools to free our minds, bodies and spirits; free from judgement, fear and greed and when practiced with attention,  true freedom feels like your gazing at an endless wide . open sky with absolutely no boundaries.

Yoga this Week – June 12, 2017

“Your life is a sacred journey.  It is about change, growth, discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your vision of what is possible, stretching your soul, learning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking courageous challenges at every step along the way….And from here, you can only go forward, shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph of healing, of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity, and of love”  .

                                                                   ~~Caroline Adams

Returning home from an adventurous weekend, I am reminded of the great power in being still, being challenged, being opened and being free.  Stepping out of our comfort zone, whether it is to sit on a meditation cushion, step on to our yoga mats, climb a mountain or open ourselves up to another, helps to expand our “vision of what is possible” in our lives.  Life itself is the greatest journey we will ever take.  It is an adventure into the unknown forest of emotions, into the complexity of our minds, the amazing resilience of our bodies, the flowing energy of relationships and most importantly, an adventure into that deep inner wellspring of compassion and love  from which all magnificent tales of triumph are born.

~ Yogi Bhajan

Om Shanti, I can honestly say I am so extremely grateful for the honor of being able to bring the ancient, sacred teachings of yoga to all of you.  Having the opportunity to practice, teach and learn yoga’s amazing life changing lessons has been a blessing in my life which has touched everyone I interact with.  May you be grateful and know the joy of being aware of all you are and have in this moment!  Jai!

“Crying is one of the highest devotional songs. One who knows crying, knows spiritual practice. If you can cry with a pure heart, nothing else compares to such a prayer. Crying includes all the principles of Yoga.”
Kripalvanandji

Dearest Yoga Students,

Hope you enjoy a good cry now and again.  I have always been a crier.  The tears just come and there is no holding them back.  Not much has changed.  I cry when I am happy, upset, mad, frustrated, full of love or simply when I become overwhelmed by the beauty and fragility of this life.  Crying integrates a sense of presence like nothing else, it includes breath work, abdominal strengthening and has the ability to allow my emotions to flow like the tears the streaming down my face leaving me calm and relieved.  I used to feel bad about the way I cried.  Those around me would urge me to stop and stifle it,  maybe due to  their own uncomfortability.  Today, I have embraced my ability to wear my emotional body out for the world to see.  If I am in a situation where it is absolutely inappropriate to cry, I take a breath and promise myself a good cry the next chance I get.  So allow yourself to cry.  Cry for the world, cry for yourself, cry for all the amazing ups and downs, and cry for the deep, spiritual love you feel when you witness the sacred beauty all around you.
