Restorative Yoga, Reiki and Acupuncture with Essential Oils

Amy Perri, ERYT500/Reiki Practitioner & Benjamin Craig, Lic. Acupuncturist/Reiki Master

Rest yoga yin yang

In this amazing session restorative yoga, reiki energy healing and acupuncture are infused with aromatherapy to indulge you in an experience that was created to bring your body, mind and spirit into harmony and wholeness.

This session provides a gentle introduction to the powerful, healing qualities of acupuncture.  Each restorative yoga pose is gently complimented by acupuncture points that have the ability to release blocks, move vital chi (life force energy), boost your immune system, calm emotions and relax the mind.

  • Restorative yoga postures are supported by blankets, pillows, straps and bolsters to relieve tension, stress & open energy in the body.
  • Reiki Healing is a non-invasive channeling of universal healing energy with the intention of loving kindness  sent to the receiver.
  • The creative art of aromatherapy (use of  pure essential oils)  allow your body and mind to relax even deeper, while lifting the emotions it creates an atmospheric shift in the room.

Yoga this Week – May 31, 2015

“We depend on nature not only for our physical survival. We also need nature to show us the way home, the way out of the prison of our minds. We got lost in doing, thinking, remembering, anticipating; lost in a maze of complexity and a world of problems. We have forgotten what rocks plants and animals still know. We have forgotten how to be— to be still, to be ourselves, to be where life is here and now.”

Eckhart Tolle

The Empowerer

Nature’s power to nurture us never ceases to amaze me.  The natural world reminds us of what is truly important and to let go of the rest.  We humans create all kinds of complex dynamics which keep our minds busy and our bodies tense.  Take time to receive the bounty of beauty that is always there for the taking right outside your door.  Make a special effort to experience nature everyday, either by cultivating your garden, sitting quietly and listening to the birds, feeling the embrace of the wind flowing around you or the tingling warmth of sun on your skin. Observe how the trees remain patient, grounded, growing and still within the movement of life.   Connect, ground down, let go and allow life to flow with the intelligent rhythm of nature and just BE!

Greetings Dearest Yoga Students,

Have faith in your practice and the ability of your yoga to calm, nurture, enliven and release.  When we move our panic energy our practice through breath work, postures, chanting, and/or meditation we effect not only our physical bodies, but our emotional bodies as well.  Moving prana (life force energy) within ourselves allows us to be more open, more willing, more free to connect to that universal prana that is available for the taking and connects us to all beings everywhere.  In essence, it allows us to show up for ourselves and for others in our life.  Trust your yoga to move through you, all you have to do is show up and be present.  Your Yoga mat will catch you if you fall.

heart chak

A Blessed Mother’s Day to all!  I hope you enjoyed your day as much as I have.  Remember that although cultural holidays are “supposed” to be happy and joyful, they often also come with a fair amount of sadness or grief for what used to be, what we hoped would be or for who we have lost along the way.  Allow yourself to feel your feelings as much as possible.  Happiness and Sorrow are both different ends of the same stick.  Have compassion and gratitude for those around you as we honor the great mothers that surround us as well as inside of us.

May you find peace and serenity in knowing you are loved!!

Yoga this Week – May 2, 2015 – No Monday Night Class

“In the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins – not through strength, but through persistence”
                                   ~Buddha

Hoping this message finds you enjoying the amazing signs of spring that are popping up all around us. Think about the perseverance and patience that nature is gifted with.  The small bulbs that wait silently underground, the perennials that lay dormant waiting for the signals and signs that it is time to begin their work of opening, pushing, growing up out of the dark earth into the light.  Nature does not give up, it finds a way to regenerate.  The natural world knows what needs to be done and does not question its role in its lifetime. This truth fills me with the hope that we too can rise above our darkness and shine in all our glory.

The Yoga Sutras tell us is it the obstacles that lead us into a deeper understanding of ourselves. Directly confronting our difficulties with clarity, compassion and persistence creates freedom.  Freedom in knowing you are never really trapped in any situation.  For today, see if you can change your perspective to any “rocks” that are in your stream.  Stay focused, do the next right thing, however small it may seem, and try and find the lesson, the jewel that is hidden within.  Today, be persistent in your journey towards balance, freedom, peace and serenity in your life.
