Yoga this Week – March 22, 2015

“When you experience yourself in stillness – that is, when you give your undivided attention to experiencing the truth about you – you will experience the conflict-free, calm, dynamic peace of perfectly centered abundant life energy”

                                               Eric Shiffman

 Greetings dearest yoga students,

Hoping this day finds you basking in the light of gratitude and surrender to what has materialized in your life.  Feel into your life as you feel into a yoga pose.  Align yourself to the spaciousness of all this moment has to offer.  Breathe in acceptance and breathe out love.   Feel into the stillness at the end of your next breathe and connect to your true self as you draw near to the present, the here and now.  Allow the act of being in your truth bring you a sense of calm and a realization, not that things will be okay, but that things are okay and wonderful already, right now as they are

Greetings dearest yoga students,

Listening to this all too familiar song being sung in a not so familiar way last night, allowed me to hear the amazing lyrics as if for the first time.  Those three simple words;” Let It Be”, have such power.  Sometimes all we have to do in times of confusion, sadness, anger, or regret is just to let it be.  Let things be as they are, let people be who they are, let the world be as it is and sit quietly waiting for an answer to come.  All too often we tend to come at a situation with fear and impatience only to find another obstacle that creates yet more anxiety.  While challenging yoga poses can invoke the same panicky pushing, we are reminded to breathe, relax and feel what adjustments we need to make to experience the sukha and sthira(sweetness and steadiness) in the posture.  “There will be an answer, Let it Be” reminds us to breathe, relax and feel as the right answer comes in the still, small voice that is your highest self.

Yoga this Week – February 2, 2015

**I am planning on class tonight but we will see how the weather pans out, let me know if you would like to come**

Dearest Yoga Students,

Hoping you are safe and warm this morning.  Whatever the weather, we really do have the ability to create a positive inner shift simply by cultivating gratitude.  Just coming back from the beautiful west coast of Florida, the scene outside my window is a bit of a shock!  Being in gratitude in the moment is one of the best things we can do to live a most productive, love filled life.   All it takes is one breath, one thought, one inner seed to be planted to change a day from black and white into a day filled with vibrant color.  All it takes is an inner shift because happiness really is an inside job.

Saturday Morning, March 7th at 8:45  to 10:30am Workshop with Kim Williams (Kishori)

Prana, Teja and Ojas: Vital Essences of Transformation

Yoga is an inner alchemical process through which we can develop higher consciousness. We each have the capacity within us to go beyond ordinary human awareness to reach a state of Self-realization.   Prana, Tejas, and Ojas  support health, creativity and well-being. They provide the foundation for deeper yogic and meditational practices.   We will especially focus on how to cultivate Ojas as that is the foundation on which our yoga practice rests. It is responsible for our immunity and on a deeper level, our sense of well-being or our bliss body. Ojas is directly linked with the essence of divine love within and can be cultivated through bhakti yoga and a lifestyle full of wholesome pleasures.

The Setauket Harbor Kayak and Canoe Rental will open its doors at 930am especially for us so that those of you who are renting can rent and paddle over to the beach by the dock before the start of our pre-paddle stretch at 10am.  Below is the schedule (subject to flexibility) for the morning.
