Harvest Moon Beach Yoga Fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey

Harvest Moon Beach Yoga Fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Wednesday, September 6th at 745pm

Broadway Beach Rocky Point

Come join us to do yoga on the beach under the full Harvest Moon. We will have live drumming during class and conclude with a drum circle and meditation. Feel free to bring drums and/or any percussion instrument you like. The full moon in September, just before the Fall Equinox, holds powerful energy, luminous colors and very bright light. Its name is the Harvest moon because it enabled farmers to pick their abundant crop late into the night. It is both a time of reflection and gratitude for what the summer has brought to us; both in material wealth and spiritual lessons.

My good friend, Russ Green,  directed my attention to this amazing organization comprised mainly of military veterans who work with EMS and other emergency response teams in the trenches of disaster areas. All proceeds from the class are going to Team Rubicon.    These are experienced service people that are literally in the trenches assisting and providing aid to the relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey. Lets take our Yoga off our mats and direct our intentions to raising much needed relief to those in need. We are one world!! If you cannot make it to the class you can either send (or give) your donation to me or donate directly at their website at www.teamrubiconusa.org

Lokha Samasta Sukino Bhavantu:  May all beings be happy, peaceful and free and may OUR THOUGHTS, WORDS AND ACTIONS CONTRIBUTE to the well being and freedom for all!!  Karma Yoga is the Yoga of Service!

Hope to celebrate this Harvest moon with you!! Join us. Contact me with any questions. 6318390644. You must arrive on time to get a parking pass to park in the Broadway beach parking lot. $15 per person, all proceeds to go to the Relief Efforts for Hurricane Harvey.

Everywhere I go I seem to find beauty that inspires me and reminds me that, like this river, we never stop flowing, growing and moving towards the source that sustains us, delivers us and ultimately claims us to call us home

…have patience with everything tht remains unsolved in your heart.  Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language.  Do no now look for the answers.  they cannot now be given to you because you could not live them.  It is a question of experiencing everything.  At present you need to live the question.  Perhaps you will gardually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day.

Greetings dearest friends

Letting go of fears is one of the hardest parts of walking this spiritual path.  If we hold on to fears of  the future, fears of mistakes we’ve made in the past, fears of not being enough, doing enough, we miss out on the beauty and sacredness of the present moment. In moment’s that fear arises try and remind yourself that there is a divine plan at work. Ishvara pranidhahana whispers a reminder to soften, relax and let go.  Feel the release as you breathe out, surrender and  embrace the now with all you’ve got for it is truly all we ever have.

“Like the descent through layers of tension to rest in the release of Savansana (resting pose), Ishvara pranidhana provides a pathway through the obstacles of our ego toward our divine nature—grace, peace, unconditional love, clarity, and freedom.” Shiva Rea

Greetings Dearest yoga students:

Ishvara (Divine Power or God)-Pranidhana (Attentiveness or Surrender) means to  surrender our efforts to the divine power in our lives. This niyama (the last out of five observances outlined in Patanjali’s eight limb yogic path) personifies the idea of living in the truth that in our limited human state we simply do not have the control we like to think we do over our lives  and we do not always know what is best for us.  However, by  paying attention in our yogic practices of meditation, asana or prayer we tap in to the source that guides us in our every decision allowing us to walk through our days confidence and ease.

Ishvara Pranidhana is practicing detachment from our most safely laid plans,  learning to take that next step forward without knowing what will come next.   When we are able to look past the selfish desires of the ego by getting out of our own way,  we are able to be a clear channel of divine light, illuminating others way on this path of life.
