Yoga this Week – April 27, 2015

” The witnessing soul is like the sky. The birds fly in the sky but they don’t leave any footprints….[The] man who is awakened lives in such a way that he leaves no footprints…. He never looks ahead, he never looks back,  he lives in the moment.”

~ Osho

Life is a good teacher and a good friend. Things are always in transition, if we could only realize it.

To stay with that shakiness – to stay with a broken heart, with a rumbling stomach, with the feeling of hopelessness and wanting to get revenge – that is the path of true awakening.

Sticking with that uncertainty, getting the knack of relaxing in the midst of chaos,

learning not to panic, this is the spiritual path.

– Pema Chödrön

This is the spiritual path, this is Yoga!  Sticking with the pose, the feeling, the uncomfortability of the know, the uncomfortability with the unknown, with the shakiness of feeling weak, of feeling strong of feeling vulnerable

and practicing relaxing in the midst of it all.  Learning to be still and respond with the utmost intelligent action from a place of compassion, wisdom and love:  This is the Spiritual Path – This is Yoga!

Greetings dear yoga students,

The feeling of the warm sun on my face, the sound of the cardinals whistling and the pink and blue hyacinths painting splashes of color in my garden fills my whole being with energy and joy!!  Spring has finally sprung and it was a glorious weekend to be alive. Just when we thought winter would never leave, here we are watching the grass turn green again.  Nature offers us such powerful lessons of rejuvenation, stamina and resolve.  Time to let go of the long, dark winter and breathe into the light of what’s ahead!!

Yoga this Week – March 29, 2015

“Why should we be in such desperate haste to succeed, and in such desperate enterprises?  If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.  Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away”
Henry D. Thoreau
images (87)
 Greetings dearest yoga students,
How often do we try to keep pace with our companions?  Pushing forward towards an ideal when we’re not even sure we connect to its truth.  Our society, families, friends all have ideas of how we should live our life.  It is time now to find your own truth.  Listen closely to your heart as you approach a decision.  What truly resonates for you may be quite different from those around you. Do something because you understand why you are doing it deep down in your core and it makes sense for you and those around you.  Give yourself space to feel into the question, check in with your physical, mental and emotional energies, they are the guides to your intuitive nature which always knows what is right.  Take a breath, get yourself in a calm state and have the patience and faith to listen to what your higher self is telling you. Trust yourself enough to be guided from within, not because you feel you need to adhere to some arbitrary code that others have laid out for you.  We live and let live which means we also honor that others have their own path, we niether judge or retaliate; we honor their decision and go our own way to decide for ourselves.
“You cannot discover new oceans until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore”

Anon

Most importantly,  don’t be afraid to fail.  It is in taking risks, trying out new ways of being,  that we find ourselves and create the life we were meant to live.  Nothing would get done if we all waited until we did it perfectly.  Encourage yourself with compassion, focus, vision and a little light hearted humor.   It is in the falls we take that we learn how to endure, create and make this world a better place for ourselves and others.

Restorative Yoga, Reiki and Acupuncture with Essential Oils

Amy Perri, ERYT500/Reiki Practitioner & Benjamin Craig, Lic. Acupuncturist/Reiki Master/RYT200

Rest yoga yin yang

In this special event,  restorative yoga, reiki energy healing and acupuncture are integrated to create an  indulgent experience designed to restore your balance, wellbeing and facilitate  a deep sense of calm in mind, body and spirit.

If you have never experienced acupuncture before, this would be a  wonderful, gentle introduction.  The  acupuncture points were specifically  chosen for  their universal healing properties including supporting the immune system, balancing energy  and creating a overall sense of relief.

Restorative yoga postures are supported by blankets, pillows, straps and bolsters to relieve tension, stress and open energy in the body.

Reiki Healing is a non-invasive channeling of universal healing energy with the intention of loving kindness  sent to the receiver.  The scent of essential oils allow your body and mind to relax even deeper by facilitating a calming effect.

Yoga this Week – March 22, 2015

“When you experience yourself in stillness – that is, when you give your undivided attention to experiencing the truth about you – you will experience the conflict-free, calm, dynamic peace of perfectly centered abundant life energy”

                                               Eric Shiffman

 Greetings dearest yoga students,

Hoping this day finds you basking in the light of gratitude and surrender to what has materialized in your life.  Feel into your life as you feel into a yoga pose.  Align yourself to the spaciousness of all this moment has to offer.  Breathe in acceptance and breathe out love.   Feel into the stillness at the end of your next breathe and connect to your true self as you draw near to the present, the here and now.  Allow the act of being in your truth bring you a sense of calm and a realization, not that things will be okay, but that things are okay and wonderful already, right now as they are
