At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person.
Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.

Deep gratitude to all who continue to light the flame within with yoga. Just by being part of our Kula (community of the heart) you can be a spark that helps to ignite and inspire another. I know you all spark my inner light whenever you come to class, send me an email or say hello in our community. I am grateful to each and everyone of you for bringing your unique and beautiful energy into our yoga room. Hoping you all have a very healthy, Happy Thanksgiving. Shanti, Shanti, Shanti, Om!!!

Greetings Dearest Yoga Students,
Santosha is one of the Niyamas outlined in the eight limbs of yoga. Niyamas are ethical practices that cultivate inner peace and awareness about ourselves. Santosha means contentment. To be content with whatever is. Having the good fortune of participating in a workshop with Todd Norian this past week enlightened me to a new way of thinking about Santosha. He spoke about life being a series of problems that need our constant attention, creativity, compassion and openness. We all know that once one issue, obstacle or problem is solved, right behind it rolls in another one, like waves on the ocean; the issues may seem bigger, smaller or take a different shape, but never the less, they keep coming. What Todd so eloquently eluded to is that all we really need to change is our perspective; to change our obstacles into stepping stones on which we grow. To be content in the action of solving, resolving or figuring out solutions while letting go of the result. Contentment is now, not when things get better, not when we have all we think we need, it is now, in this moment. It allows us to love all of life, opening our hearts and clearing it out of judgment as to what we consider “good” or “bad”. Contentment allows our hearts to be at ease and turns our ignorance into knowledge.

Greetings yoga enthusiasts,
The Teen Yoga Class I was offering through the Rocky Point Community Education has been delayed until the Spring Session. If your teen was interested in attending, please contact me. If I have enough interest, I will hold a four class session at my studio Thursdays, (11/20, 12/4, 12/11 & 12/18) at 5pm. We would need a minimum of six students. Enjoy the leaves…
Shanti, Om
Amy
**Please note: The Restorative Yoga & Acupuncture Session will be pre-empting the regular Monday Evening class this Monday**

Greetings dearest yoga students,
Class will be cancelled for tonight as I am planning to attend the LAST FULL MOON LABYRINTH WALK at the Little Portion Friary in Mt. Sinai at 7pm – Open to All
Greetings dear yoga students,
–
This beautiful place of refuge, meditation, prayer and, of course, homemade bread, will be closing as the brothers are no longer able to maintain the property. The full moon labyrinth walk is something I have been wanting to do for a long time and I do not want to miss this last opportunity. With the full moon on the rise, it is the perfect time to walk the labyrinth. Below is a link for more information about tonight’s event and the website which can offer you a history on labyrinths, as well as the Friary itself. If you were planning on coming to yoga class tonight, why not join me in this beautiful practice at the Friary 7 to 9pm.

In this special event, restorative yoga, reiki energy healing and acupuncture are integrated to create an indulgent experience designed to restore your balance, wellbeing and facilitate a deep sense of calm in mind, body and spirit.
If you have never experienced acupuncture before, this would be a wonderful, gentle introduction. The acupuncture points were specifically chosen for their universal healing properties including supporting the immune system, balancing energy and creating a overall sense of relief.
Restorative yoga postures are supported by blankets, pillows, straps and bolsters to relieve tension, stress and open energy in the body.
Reiki Healing is a non-invasive channeling of universal healing energy with the intention of loving kindness sent to the receiver. The scent of essential oils allow your body and mind to relax even deeper by facilitating a calming effect.
