Yoga this Week – Decembeer 1, 2019

Namaste,

Hoping you all enjoyed the extended holiday weekend.    As the season becomes full with wonderful gatherings, activities and longer “to do” lists, try not to skip your practice.  It will help to keep you grounded, healthy and calm!  To encourage your attendance, put your name in the Reiki Box every time you come to class for a chance to win a Neal’s Yard Remedy Gift Set.  After the New Year, I will pull a name.  The more times your name is entered, the better chance you have to win!

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” M Beattie

Hari Om Dear Yoga Students,

Look around you this morning.  Take in the sights and smells of Fall.  Breathe in that energy and allow your life to be enough.  Call to mind all you have been given.  All the blessing and hardships; even trials and tribulations are gifts in disguise.  The obstacles in our path allow us to move deeper into our human experience, and in doing so, calls us to reach out to others for help.  Experiencing the light within the dark (yin and yang) we come to the realization that Santosha becomes possible and is the surest way to Joy.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for allowing me to bring this amazing, life changing practice of yoga into your lives week after week.  It humbles me to think this will be our 12th Annual Winter Solstice Gathering!  You all bring such beautiful energy into our yoga room.  So many friendships have been born, connections made, and energy freed, it amazes me!  And, of course,  many more adventures in yoga to come, I’ve got some surprises on tap for 2020!!

Shanti, Shanti, Shanti!!

Peace & Love Always, Amy

Yoga this Week- November 10, 2019

Greetings dearest yoga students

This week we will experience a beautiful full moon. Let its energy wash over you and remind you that you are already complete and whole Just As You Are. As we see all around us nature is preparing for the colder months ahead by allowing everything to fall away and die to return back to the Earth. So we too must be willing to let go of those things that bind us. Within this letting go we give ourselves space to just be, believe and dream of new adventures to come.

Nature is such an amazing combination of going out and going in.  Troubles seem to vanish and the unity of all things becomes crystal clear.  There is beauty and nature all around us.  We can step outside our door and gaze at the waxing moon, feel the brisk air, smell the earth and receive the same benefits as if you climbed a mountain (well almost)!

The essence of yoga is not the posture or the breath work or even sitting on a meditation cushion. The essence of Yoga is the practice of learning how to be present to the experience of being alive.  As you become more and more available to the present moment your yoga practice becomes a powerful way to cultivate health, psychological growth and awaken higher potentials within you.  As always, it is my great honor to try to bring these teachings to light whenever we meet.  Jai!!

Sound healing is a form of meditation that is performed in a group where you lay on the mat, supported by props and let the sound transport you to another place.

Sound healing has many benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety, improve circulation, deepens relaxation, increase mental & emotional clarity. Vibrational sound healing can be traced back from present day trends to many ancient civilizations including India, Africa, Europe, and the Orient. The idea is to restore balance to the chakra system and clearing the blocked energy within ourselves. Sound healing is similar to reiki healing; It is a form of energy healing that allows your body to self-regulate and self heal.

Let the sounds vibrate through you to feel the power of self preservation and healing.

Please bring your own yoga mat if you choose, a blanket (optional) and arrive 15 minutes early. Complimentary tea will be served.

$25 per person in advance/$30 that evening if space allows. Limited to 10 participants. Contact Amy to sign up.

Crystal Singing Bowls Played by Annette: Certified in 2015 in Sound Healing at Sage Center for the Healing Arts, Woodstock NY. Anette started her sound healing journey in 2012, after not feeling well for 9 years prior. Annette healed herself through sound when doctors were unable to help her. Her body went back into balance and it became her passion. Since she wanted to help others, she trained and became certified in Sound Healing/Therapy in 2015.
